Sydney first started performing at the age of 5 at her local dance studio in Hilton Head Island South Carolina. She truly started to fall in love with dance at around age 12 when she started performing more at Hilton Head Dance Studio. She was in many works by Karena Brock-Caryle, John Carlyle, Jamal Edwards and Kathleen Watkins. From Nutcracker, to Swan Lake and her own choreography, Syd was training and dancing every hour that she could.
Even though she was brought up in a classical ballet ABT certified school, Sydney started to fall in love with modern and contemporary dance when she attended Marymount Manhattan College. Learning techniques like O'Donnell, Nicholais, Graham, Horton, Limon and Cunningham, she truly found styles that she was passionate about performing.
While at Marymount Manhattan, Sydney was able to perform in many works in and outside of school both by students and by professional choreographers. Works by Robert Burke, Ginger Thatcher, Aaron Loux, Martha Graham and José Limón. In 2025, she performed at the Joyce Theater along with her peers in Martha Graham's Panorama (1935) set by Lone Larson. She also has performed in the Ailey Citigroup Theater and at the Dixon Theater in New York City.
While Sydney mainly focuses on ballet, contemporary, modern and experimental styles, she has also performed in the genres of hip-hop, jazz, tap and fosse numbers.
